phrase: wash one's hands of something

    这个俚语出自圣经。当时，犹太人当局判定耶稣犯了死罪，但他们无权执行这种判决，就把他送交罗马总督彼拉多。彼拉多迫于压力，违心给耶稣定了罪。随后，他在众人面前洗手，表示在这件事上他没有罪。之后，片语“to wash one's hands of something”就用于表示“退出、不参与、不做某事、不对某事负责”。 相对于汉语中的“洗手不干”有点特指大侠或小偷等黑道中人，英语这个短语的使用范围比汉语广得多，只要是表达“退出、不参与、不做某事、与某事脱离干系”，可以用在任何人的身上。
